Ka-BAM!

To Whom It May Concern:

I recently purchased a pair of Nike [ACG product #], as I was looking for a stylish and effective option for walking in New York City during our many rainy and snowy days. I am an enthusiastic fan of the Nike brand, and I own several pairs of Dunks, Blazers, and have owned Nike running shoes in the past.

I was shocked and dismayed to find that my new Nike boots, despite being advertised as waterproof and “[insert quote here],” were anything but. Over the course of several walks in inclement weather (thunderstorms, sleet, blizzards), the boots consistently failed to keep my feet dry to any extent. I understand there will be some leakage in heavy weather and I accept that. However, even after walking through puddles no more than half an inch deep, my socks and feet were very wet. The same held true when walking through a snowfall of medium intensity. In fact, any walk taken in inclement weather of any kind led to soaking wet socks and feet.

Now I am not sure what “waterproof” is meant to imply to the average consumer, but to me it connotes an ability to keep one’s feet dry on a five-minute run to the grocery store during a thunderstorm. Unfortunately the boots failed to measure up in this scenario; I was certain that my feet would have been just as wet had I been wearing my canvas Chuck Taylors. To me this is unacceptable.

As I have stated, I am a fan of the Nike brand and style. I would like to believe that I have simply bought a defective pair of what may very well be a quality product. At this point, however, I have spent $[dollar amount] on a Nike product that has utterly failed to perform as advertised. I request that I be issued a full refund for my money. I am quite happy to send to you the boots in question, however I would ask that any shipping charges incurred thereby also be refunded to me in full.

Yours sincerely,

Philip Galitzine
